Our Mission

WCET accelerates the adoption of effective practices and policies, advancing excellence in technology-enhanced teaching and learning in higher education.

Who We Are

WCET is an action-based community of practice. Our collaborative membership is comprised of:

  • colleges and universities, with regional and national accreditation, from all sectors of higher education.
  • corporations, e-learning consortia, non-profit organizations, and higher education associations.
  • state and system higher education executive agencies.

What Our Name Is

As of 2010, our name is the WICHE Cooperative for Educational Technologies, but our friends call us WCET for short. To learn more about how we got our name, our past, our present, and our path forward, read The WCET Story. It's not too complicated.

What We Do

We offer members unparalleled access to CONNECT with colleagues, peers, common interest groups, experts, and decision makers. We are the channel for trusted advice on policies and practices that support our members' individual goals.

We help our members LEARN about emerging trends and understand important issues. We provide examples of successful adoption of learning technology innovation to improve our members' practice.

Collectively we ADVANCE policies and practices to academic leaders, elected officials, and policy makers to accelerate the effective adoption and use of technology for teaching and learning.

To learn more about WCET and the issues important to our members, check our Newsroom, Resources, and Frontiers Blog.

Through our partnership with WICHE we leverage the expert policy and research capacity of one of the country's leading think tanks in higher education.

The Steering Committee advises on activities that WCET should pursue and makes recommendations on policy issues to the Executive Council and the Executive Director. The Bylaws establish WCET's official operating rules about governance, membership, and dues. WCET Policies detailing decision-making responsibilities of WCET's governance and advisory groups as well as policies concerning accountability to our members.
