About Us
WCET brings together colleges and universities, higher education organizations and companies to collectively improve the quality and reach of e-learning programs. We achieve this by the cooperative exchange of resources and services among our members.
WCET has a long and successful history in fostering collaborative projects, information sharing, and networking among some of the country's most established and innovative postsecondary providers of e-learning. The cooperative was founded in 1989 by the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) to meet a growing need to integrate distance learning and educational technology into the academic services of higher education institutions in the western region. From our western roots, the work of WCET has grown to serve members across the U.S., Canada and beyond. We invite you to learn more about membership and consider joining.
"WCET is one of the best places for an honest discussion of what we in higher education are discovering about the intersection of innovation and quality in American higher education. If you are interested in the adult learner agenda, the changing regulatory environment, online learning and all the contingent Web 2.0 topics, WCET is the place where you ought to be."
