Explore the New WCET Website

Welcome, friends, to the new WCET website. Over the past six months you have heard about us preparing an agenda for our institutional, corporate, foundation, and governing/coordinating board members that focuses on support and services needed in a time where our industry is changing rapidly and money is tight. We are maintaining our commitment to being a community of practice, a collective helping each other do our jobs better than we could ever do alone.
Our new name, the WICHE Cooperative for Educational Technologies, reflects our commitment to our parent organization - the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education - and our commitment to working with you, our members from across the US, to discover the best ways to implement technologies in higher education.
Besides the shiny new name and look, you'll find both features you've always loved about WCET and some new ones you won't know how you lived without. Our members-only email list will still function to both disseminate our news digest as well as enable conversations between members. Our twitterfeed will continue to bring you news snacks from around higher education. Our blog, WCET Frontiers, will feature news and analysis of current topics while our "Conversations with" series will introduce you to some of our industry's movers and shakers. Our Common Interest Groups (CIGs) will continue to function as a wiki but you'll notice they will now have the '.pbworks.com' web address in order to avoid any problems with security.
I could go on and on, but I won't. I'll let you explore the site on your own so you can see what we've done, where we are headed, and where we intend to go. As with just about any new website there will be new features rolled- out over the next couple of months, such as a "members only" section, since we want to make sure to give you reasons to join our merry band of educational change agents. We will also be integrating the website with our member database which will make it easier for you to customize your WCET experience.
If you have any feedback, we'd love to hear it. We're a community – a cooperative – and that means that we are most effective when we share our ideas and information. And of course, we all look forward to seeing you at our 22nd Annual Conference in LaJolla, CA!
Thanks for helping us accelerate the adoption of innovations in learning technologies!
Ellen Wagner
