WCET News Digest

As a benefit to members, WCET provides frequent digests of recent news items, blog posts, opinion pieces, research reports, and other recent happenings in the postsecondary educational technology, e-learning, distance learning, and hybrid learning areas. The "WCET News Digests" have been a popular member benefit and we are expanding this service in two ways:

More Digests.

So much is happening in educational technologies that a single digest has become too large. We have divided the digests into separate mailings:

  • Academic – instruction, assessment, academic integrity, learning, research, effectiveness, student characteristics, faculty development, instructional design, faculty issues, tutoring, student services, retention, completion.
  • Policy – legislation, regulations, business of e-learning, management, growth, organization, predictions, efficiencies, politics.
  • Technology – emerging technologies, effective use, innovative use, glitches, new products, new services, switching vendors, costs, help desk support, predictions.

More Analysis.

In addition to the digests, WCET staff (and guest experts) will be providing additional insight and context on what the latest news may mean for you now and into the future.

Subscribe.

All of the digests are currently delivered to members through the WCETNews members-only email list. To subscribe to this member-only service, send an e-mail with your name, organization, e-mail address, and a note requesting to subscribe to the WCETNEWS list to: wcetinfo@wiche.edu.

Archive.

Access to an archive of previous postings to the WCETNEWS list (including the News Digests) is available to members.
