This position will report to the Director of Academic Technology Services within User Support and Student IT Enablement as part of an instructional technology support team providing management of various campus multimedia systems. The team’s primary mission is to enable and support faculty in the effective utilization of digital media and communications in teaching, learning, and research. Oversee campus digital media services. Organize and facilitate on-site system and server maintenance, upkeep, and updates; provide in-depth system troubleshooting; maintain video file storage databases and streaming video services, act as primary liaison with service vendors and off-site support staff.
Coordinate with the Faculty Technology Center personnel to provide digital media, imaging, and web communications pedagogical and productivity support for faculty: Develop synchronous and asynchronous training; create and/or revise support and training documentation; provide 2nd tier end-user support.
Research industry standards and current trends in digital media usage specific to higher education settings; analyze and experiment with new or improved digital media services and tools; make recommendations based upon research and experimentation.
Perform critical assessment of campus digital media services to ensure adherence to all FERPA regulations and compliance with ADA accessibility guidelines; work with the LSU Chief Information and Security Officer to evaluate and test campus digital media services to determine any potential security issues.
Develop and implement a campus outreach and service promotion plan geared towards identified target user groups.
Assist with other academic technology support related duties as assigned.
