Job Description

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE)is seeking qualified candidates for an Assistant Director for Online Student Services.  The Assistant Director will oversee and coordinate online student activities and services to ensure compliance with the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) edicts as well as adherence and development of best practices for serving SIUE students.  The selected candidate will understand and utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Learning Management System (LMS), and other software to provide guidance and create processes and efficiencies to best serve adult and distance students. This position will support faculty development activities and will be expected to work closely with Deans, the Provost's office and faculty to plan for and develop high quality online programs that meet regional demand. Additionally, the Assistant Director will oversee recruitment; communication and retention plans; record and resolve student concerns; and continually provide guidance to streamline and improve the student experience by working closely with Student Affairs.

Minimum Qualifications

-Master's degree in any field which demonstrates higher level thinking skills, critical analysis, communication skills and/or ability to complete complex tasks.
-At least five (5) years of experience in higher education with increasing level of responsibility.*
-Three (3) years of supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to lead teams.*
-Three (3) years of experience serving online or non-traditional students in any capacity such as admission, advising, financial aid, or counseling.*
-Two (2) years or more in a role where student contact and/ or customer satisfaction is expected.*
-Two (2) years of experience with higher education software packages.*
-Exceptional communication skills; engaging telephone presence.
-Strong organization and time management skills.
-Thorough understanding of adult and online learning and/ or instructional design.
-Ability to work independently with good judgment and attention to detail.
-Ability and motivation to take initiative.
-Sound professional writing skills.

*Experience may be concurrent.
