The Embedded Instructional Technologist (EIT) is responsible for developing and supporting online teaching and learning communities of practice in the assigned college/school. The position assists faculty in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of digital instructional materials. The instructional technologist is a first-responder to technology-related issues of use by the subject-mater-expert/instructor. In collaboration with the Office of Information Technology (OIT), the technologist assists with training instructors in the use of digital learning tools and the use of department master courses. The EIT encourages and supports faculty to move along a continuum from technophobia to technophilia, meeting faculty where they are and helping them progress as needed. The Embedded Instructional Technologist (EIT) is responsible for ongoing training and support for faculty using digital teaching and learning resources. In collaboration with the course development team, this position assists faculty in the development of instructional materials through the selection, design, production, and implementation of e-pedagogies.
This position requires a Masters from a regionally accredited college or university and 5 years’ comparable experience in instructional technology and educational theories
