Job summary
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Multimedia Programmer Analyst.  The Multimedia Programmer Analyst within Nevada Online reports to the Vice Provost of Online Learning. The Multimedia Programmer Analyst is primarily responsible for creating accessible and engaging multimedia elements for online courses developed with the Nevada Online design team. This position works closely with the faculty course developers, instructional designers, and instructional technologists to develop multimedia content, including but not limited to digital images, animations, videos, digital simulations, and interactive elements. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Consults with faculty on animation, graphic, and multimedia needs to develop creative solutions that address teaching challenges.
  • Leads, designs, and develops trainings involving 3D scanning, along with processing endpoint data from scans.
  • Researches and develops methods and technology that leverage media in improving instruction, knowledge transfer, and learner retention of information.
  • Develops methods and technologies which promote instruction and learner retention. This includes integrating multimedia into distance learning programs.
  • Identifies integration and system impacts when issues arise related to storyline, character animator, sketchfab, maya, etc.
  • Collaborates with Nevada Online technologists and videographer to provide support to online faculty incorporating virtual reality elements, lightboard video, dynamic media, and more.
  • Gives direction to student team members regarding coordination of work and prioritization of projects. Anticipates issues that may arise. Recommends reallocation of resources, as needed, to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Identifies emerging technologies and resources that can be used to enhance and improve the quality and completion rate of media projects.

Minimum qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience; OR

Master’s degree and one year of related experience

Related experience:  Experience with multimedia tools such as Adobe After Effects and Maya, experience with development in game engine tools (Unreal or Unity), experience with Photoshop, Articulate Storyline or similar in developing educational content or related.
