Elements of Humanizing EdTech in Higher Education

This virtual Summit explored the intersection of technology, including but not limited to AI, and human experience within higher education. Participants delved into strategies for leveraging technology to enhance digital learning and student support while also addressing ethical considerations and potential challenges. The Summit fostered discussions on:

  • Technology as a Bridge for Human Connection – Discussions highlighted how technology, when thoughtfully integrated, can enhance human experiences, foster inclusivity, and create opportunities.
  • Human-Centered EdTech Strategies – Presenters shared how institutions leverage AI and other technologies to personalize learning and build meaningful connections between students, faculty, and staff.
  • Innovations in Teaching and Learning – Sessions examined emerging trends that prioritize the human element in technology-enhanced education, including diverse learning styles, storytelling, and belonging.
  • Governance and Ethical EdTech Implementation – Panelists discussed frameworks for evaluating, adopting, and implementing educational technologies to ensure accessibility, inclusivity, and effectiveness.
  • Shaping the Future of Technology in Education – The Summit concluded with reflections on key insights and a renewed commitment to ensuring technology amplifies, rather than diminishes, human connection and growth.
