The University of Nevada, Reno, is recruiting for a Learning Management System Administrator for Nevada Online. Reporting to the Vice Provost of Online Learning, this position supports and maintains Nevada Online, ensuring seamless operations for asynchronous and synchronous courses. This role serves as the technical foundation for Nevada Online, managing system integrity, integration, and cross-departmental collaboration to enhance the digital learning experience. The incumbent orchestrates course setup, manages user accounts and enrollments, and oversees daily system operations. This position drives innovation while maintaining the critical educational technology infrastructure that supports thousands of Nevada Online students and faculty daily.
Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the Nevada Online administrator ; preform maintenance as necessary
  • Act as backup for the Office of Digital Learning’s Senior Administrator, Instructional Systems
  • Determine the procedure for the addition of new integrations with the LMS for online instruction
  • Work with internal Nevada Online team and OIT to ensure the accessibility of LMS integrations
  • Work with InfoSec team to ensure security of the LMS and any integrations
  • Work with Financial Services team in Admissions & Records to comply with the Federal Financial Aid Regulations
  • Develop, deploy and maintain branding and customization for primary and secondary LMS interfaces (i.e. Catalog)
  • Work with Advising to ensure proper access to LMS data, specifically information related to NCAA compliance
  • In collaboration with OIT and vendor representatives coordinate any special projects related to the LMS which support online initiatives
  • Ensure that the automated scripts used to create courses, users and enrollments run successfully multiple times per day
  • Work in collaboration with Instructional Technologists, Instructional Designers and faculty to ensure courses meet the educational needs of the faculty members.
  • Create special courses and associated enrollments upon request
  • Represent Nevada Online on relevant technology-based committees and task forces

Minimum Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience; OR a master’s degree and one year of related work experience.
  • Related Experience: providing computing support in a networked environment, including some experience with a course management system.
