The Future of #OnlineLearning Leadership
Four online learning leaders, each from different institution types (a private research university, a public research university, an HBCU, and a very large minority-serving community college district) discussed the future of online learning leadership, exploring these themes and more:
- The future is more entrepreneurial. Leaders must continue to be entrepreneurial and even more so than before. Stacking, blending, and aggregating learning experiences and helping learners own the evidence of their skills is the future of the teaching and learning ecosystem.
- The future is more inclusive. Leaders will need to focus on deepening partnerships between faculty and staff and ensuring that institutions of higher education can compete with industry in attracting top faculty and staff talent.
- The future is global. Leaders will need to grapple with the demands of a global marketplace as higher education becomes increasingly globalized.
- The future is more diverse. A diversity of leaders will emerge in the online learning space and lead efforts into new directions.
