Price Versus Cost Debate
The webcast was a facilitated conversation between experts on the price and cost of distance education who hold competing perspectives and participating WCET members. The WCET Price and Cost Distance Education report grounded the discussion. NCHEMS’ Cost Model was highlighted as a tool for institutions to use to determine the true costs of their distance learning options. Reed Scull provided information regarding details of why distance courses do cost more and the potential for an 80% funding rule that is being considered in the state of Wyoming.
