Accessibility Specialist

The Accessibility Specialist (AS) meets with students to assess and assign academic accommodations, acts as point person for assistive technology, and coordinates closely with the Testing Center and eLearning Services in joint projects. This position also works with campus offices and organizations to ensure accessibility of campus documents, through training and document remediation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Excellent customer service skills; proven ability to deal effectively with people in difficult situations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree preferred
• Knowledge of the ADA, ADAAA, and sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Acts
• Knowledge of LC State campus procedures and policies
• Familiarity with medical paperwork, in relation to student accommodations
