The Instructional Designer will create online/blended courses and trainings in partnership with a rapidly growing team dedicated to innovation, creativity, and lifelong learning. Support the development and conversion of courses, programs, and training materials for innovative and technology-assisted course delivery options at the R-1 flagship University of Arkansas. Collaborate on workforce development projects alongside subject matter experts and workforce development coordinators in a thriving area that is home to a wide range of businesses and some of the world’s largest corporations. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, instructional design and management, faculty/SME consultation and support, ongoing course evaluation and revision, course and program alignment, quality assurance, and other related responsibilities. This position reports to the Instructional Design Manager.

We are looking for someone to help us think differently about how we design courses and training who can bring a fresh new creative approach.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in educational technology, instructional design, or a related education field
  • At least two years of experience as an Instructional Designer in higher education, workforce, or military setting
  • Hands-on experience designing and building projects/training/courses within a Learning Management System for online delivery (preferably Blackboard)
  • Experience with applying ADA guidelines and accessibility best practices in digital communications
  • Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, organizational skills
