PURPOSE

This position is responsible for analyzing needs, as well as design, develop, deliver and evaluate a variety of instruction for e-learning. This position will also work closely with the Director and instructors to create and provide learning experiences for students and design fully online courses as well as blended learning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional Area 1: Faculty & student support

Percent Effort: 75% 

  • Designs and develops eLearning modules and courses with instructors.
  • Provides awareness of campus resources and services available for online/distance students.
  • Provides coordinated and effective technology support and professional development to instructors and students.

Functional Area 2: Operations & Research

Percent Effort: 15%

  • Builds and maintains databases that serve as a comprehensive and growing record of a) campus services for online students, and b) accomplishments of instructors relative to Distance Education (DE).
  • Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of the Office of Distance Education and Learning Technologies (ODELTs) distance learning resources and service provision to A&M-CC students relative to established benchmarks and national best practices. Establishes and monitors benchmarks related to the efficient and effective provision of distance learning services and resources on and off campus.

Functional Area 3: Other

Percent Effort: 10% 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field.
  • Two years of related experience in instructional design.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Knowledge of online course design principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and instructional technologies.
