Jan G. Miller

Dean, College of Education and Division of Online Programs, University of West Alabama

Jan G. Miller currently serves as the dean for the College of Education and as the dean for the Division of Online Programs at the University of West Alabama (UWA). Under Jan’s guidance, numerous new programs have been developed and launched at UWA. Most recently, an Ed.D. in Rural Education was launched in August 2018 and is the first in the nation boasting 70 doctoral candidates from across the U.S. Prior to working at UWA, Jan served as a school leader in a P12 setting for eighteen years. She is also a former teacher of grades K, 1, 3, and 8. She is a CAEP site reviewer and reviews numerous publications. Her areas of expertise include online education, online course design, grant writing, and instructional leadership.
