Brad Carpenter

Instructional Design Specialist, Senior, University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing

Brad serves as a senior instructional design specialist for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing. He advises faculty and staff on best practices for design, online teaching, and integrating technology into online, face-to-face, and blended courses.

Prior to joining UAB, Brad taught English for 12 years in secondary education. 

Susan Haught

Senior Technical Program Manager, 1EdTech

Susan is the senior technical program manager at 1EdTech. Her passion involves educational technology leadership strategies that make a positive impact on teaching and learning, supporting students and teachers in achieving their goals. She has academic and technical professional experience working in K-12 and higher education, with a focus on education technology leadership, instructional design, IT project management, professional learning, student support services, and classroom teaching. Susan managed the first interoperability program at Houston ISD, led enterprise SaaS and hardware implementations, and led the implementation and operations of a new Virtual Academy school.

Kelly Hermann

Vice President of Accessibility and Student Affairs, University of Phoenix

Kelly Hermann is the vice president for accessibility and student affairs at the University of Phoenix. She oversees the university’s accessibility initiative, including the evaluation and remediation of curricular resources, the Center for Access, Resources, Engagement and Support Services (CARES), and the Office of Collaborative Learning and Educational Engagement. Her leadership is key in fostering a welcoming educational environment for students, faculty, and staff. Kelly frequently presents on accessibility for AHEAD, OLC, WCET, and other national organizations.

Johnny Zhou

Instructional Designer, University of Hawaiʻi

Johnny Zhou is an instructional designer with the University of Hawaiʻi (UH) Online Innovation Center, supporting faculty from campuses across the UH system in creating engaging online, hybrid, and web-enhanced learning experiences. His work also includes developing professional development opportunities, exploring the role of emerging technologies in higher education, and other department initiatives. His professional interests include accessibility, educational technology, and the thoughtful integration of AI into teaching and learning.

Megan Raymond

Senior Director, Membership and Programs, WCET

Megan has been with WCET since June 2007. As the senior director of membership and programs, she oversees member recruitment and activities and manages various programs, most notably the Annual Conference, Summits, monthly webcasts, and Closer Conversations. Megan brings over 20 years of higher education experience to the position and holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Fort Lewis College and a master’s degree in Nutrition and Health Education. Prior to joining the WCET team, Megan worked as the assistant director for student housing and conference services at a small liberal arts college, where she was entrenched in student affairs.

In her spare time, Megan enjoys racing mountain bikes, skiing, and chasing her son on his bike or feet. Her three rescue pups include a 75-pound lap dog, a quite cunning shepherd mix, whom she is sure is plotting to take over the world, and a corgi named Rosie who rules the roost. Megan’s favorite television character is Jimmy on Shrinking.
