Every student, whether they take classes on campus or online, requires support services in order to be successful learners. Student services can encompass many other topics including accessibility, adaptive learning, mental health services, and more. While colleges and universities are well accustomed to providing student services to students on campus, these same services are harder to develop and provide for students in a digital setting. For example, most students studying on campus can expect some kind of orientation or introduction upon arrival, however, online students are not always given the same resources. While online learning providers are currently building systems and structures to support such services, there are many more ways colleges and universities can provide resources for online students to ensure their personal, academic, and career success. On this page, we provide resources to help institutions understand the needs of their students, as well as the types of services that will help the students to succeed.
