Policy Associate, Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges

Monica Olsson is the policy associate for Washington’s State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, bringing over 10 years of experience in the disability and accessibility field. In her role, she develops and implements IT accessibility policy and best practice, provides training and support, and collaborates with stakeholders to enhance accessible technology. Before joining SBCTC, Monica held critical accessibility roles at Tacoma Community College and DigiPen Institute of Technology, gaining valuable experience. She has been recognized for her strategic thinking, attention to detail, and leadership in driving positive change. Notably, 1EdTech awarded her for her contributions to their organization’s Accessibility Workgroup.
