On May 1, 2024, WCET, UPCEA, OLC, Quality Matters, the American Association of Community Colleges, and the National Association of College and University Business Officers all joined in submitting a letter to the U.S. Department of Education regarding state authorization reciprocity regulations proposed in the 2024 negotiated rulemaking. Specifically, we address the proposals to a) limit institutions to enrolling no more than 500 students in a state through reciprocity and b) have institutions serving students through reciprocity participate in closure requirements such as bonding, tuition recovery funds, or records retention.
