What is the new name?
ASWE: Annual Summit for Women in eLearning. Together, as a community, we will connect, learn, and support others in the field of digital learning—
What is changing?
Held in conjunction with the WCET Annual Meeting, every other year, beginning in 2023, ASWE + WCET will be held as a post-conference Summit. Sample schedule:
Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Saturday | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Morning | WCET preconference sessions | WCET Annual Meeting | WCET Annual Meeting | ASWE Summit | ASWE Summit |
Afternoon | WCET Annual Meeting | WCET Annual Meeting | ASWE Summit (beginning with the WCET Annual Meeting closing plenary) | ASWE Summit |
The ASWE Summit will begin at the general session that concludes WCET, often an inspiring keynote. The program will include participatory sessions, roundtables, book club, the Pajamarama, and brunch.
Beginning in 2022, during alternating years when ASWE is not held, a book club session and social event will be held at the WCET Annual Meeting to provide an option for ASWE participants to connect more often than every other year.
What is staying the same?
While the ASWE Summit will be held in conjunction with the WCET Annual Meeting, the program will still include inspiring presenters, collaborative sessions, opportunities for networking, and the infamous Pajamarama on Friday evening.
Along with WCET event staff, the Executive Committee members who have sustained IFWE for the past five years will continue to help guide the programming, speakers, sessions, marketing, and other key elements that made IFWE a must-attend event for women in digital learning. Darcy Hardy, the group’s longtime leader and queen bee, will continue to provide guidance and input to inform the programmatic themes and topics for the ASWE event.
