WCET and WCET SAN Honor Inspiring Individuals and Exceptional Institutions

WCET (the WICHE Cooperative for Educational Technologies) and the WCET State Authorization Network (SAN) are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2023 WCET Awards and the State Authorization Network SANsational awards.

Boulder, CO – WCET (the WICHE Cooperative for Educational Technologies) and the WCET State Authorization Network (SAN) are pleased to announce the winners of several awards honoring individuals working in the higher education digital learning field and highlighting outstanding institutional initiatives.

 

WCET Individual Awards

Dick Jonsen & Mollie McGill Award

The Dick Jonsen & Mollie McGill Award is given each year to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the digital learning community and WCET during their career. It is WCET’s top honor.

2023 Recipient – Shannon Riggs, Associate Vice Provost of Educational Programs and Learning Innovation, Oregon State University. WCET Steering Committee Past Chair, WCET Executive Council.

Sally M. Johnstone Award

The Sally M. Johnstone Award recognizes a professional who has made an outsized contribution for their ‘rank’ to the digital teaching and learning community with the intention of recognizing thought leadership, excellence in practice, and demonstrated leadership capabilities.

2023 Recipient – Felicity Cruz Grandjean, Associate Dean of E-learning Quality, Office of E-learning, Dallas College.


WCET WOW Awards

The WCET Outstanding Work (WOW) Award recognizes outstanding efforts by member organizations and individuals in applying innovative solutions to a challenging educational need.

2023 Awardees:

  • Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education – Online Consortium of Oklahoma
  • Rio Salado College – RioPACT
  • Sinclair Community College – Course Equity Rubric

WCET SAN – SANsational Awards

The SANsational Awards recognize outstanding efforts by SAN member institutions and organizations in developing a high-quality, comprehensive solution to a challenging state authorization issue. Works recognized by the SANsational Awards present solutions that meet the needs of regulators, the institution and, most especially, students. These efforts serve as models which can be adapted or replicated by others.
