Lindsey Gumb

Lindsey Gumb is an assistant professor and the scholarly communications librarian at Roger Williams University, where she has been leading OER adoption, revision, and creation since 2016. She co-chairs the Rhode Island Open Textbook Initiative Steering Committee and is fellow for Open Education at the New England Board of Higher Education. She researches the intersections of open education, information literacy, and U.S. copyright law.

Liliana Diaz

As a policy analyst with the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE), Liliana Diaz works on a diverse range of activities including conducting and communicating policy research on a wide array of higher education-related topics, developing and sustaining relationships with external stakeholders, and conceptualizing and executing short- and long-term collaborative projects with states. Liliana received her B.S. in journalism and mass communication, B.A. in film studies, and a certificate in technology, arts, and media from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She earned her M.A. in higher education from the University of Denver, where she is currently a Ph.D. candidate in higher education administration.

Michelle Levine

Michelle Levine had been an educator for over 25 years and a proud member of the Broward College family for 17 years. She has served as the district director of faculty development for the past three years. Prior to assuming her current role, she was a computer science faculty member for 14 years. Michelle was the recipient of a Professor of the Year award in 2015. She is passionate about lifelong learning and is committed to supporting both students and colleagues on their educational journeys.

Michael Horn

Michael Horn speaks and writes about the future of education and works with a portfolio of education organizations to improve the life of each and every student. He is the author of the new book, Choosing College. Michael is a senior strategist at Guild Education, which partners with leading employers and organizations to help offer education and upskilling opportunities to America’s workforce. He is also the co-founder of and a distinguished fellow at the Clayton Christensen Institute for Disruptive Innovation, a non-profit think tank.

Cali Morrison

Cali M.K. Morrison is chief instigator and courageous coach at Creative Synapse, LLC. Previously Cali was interim dean, Center for Professional & Continuing Education and associate dean, alternative learning at American Public University System (APUS). She also served as assistant director, communications and analysis and project director of Transparency by Design at the WCET, where she studied adult learners and accountability. Her current interests include the future of learning, work, and credentials as well as competency-based education. Cali lives in Belgrade, MT with her four-legged officemates, homebuilder hubby, and daughters; she is active in the community, supporting the One Valley Community Foundation, Montana Science Center, and Thrive.

Whitney Kilgore

Whitney Kilgore is co-founder and chief academic officer of iDesign, a partner to universities that wish to build, grow, and support online and blended course program offerings. iDesign provides concierge, white-glove instructional design support to faculty partners and ensure that faculty feel comfortable, informed, and in control throughout the process of creating online learning experiences for their students. Whitney is currently working on research related to care theory in online learning and the impact to practice of humanizing online teaching and learning. She resides in North Texas with her husband, their four children, two dogs, and a cat. They enjoy hiking, swimming, and wearing their masks.

Leah Chuchran-Davis

Leah Chuchran-Davis is the vice president of LX design at iDesign, a partner to universities that wish to build, grow, and support online and blended course program offerings. She focuses on the development of distributed teams that are highly collaborative and innovative in learning design. Her current research interests include competency-based education (CBE) and workforce skills development, building learning communities, and humanizing the online classroom. She currently resides in western North Carolina on 36 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains as she, the farmer, and four children enjoy outdoor life on a biodynamic farm.

MJ Bishop

MJ Bishop is associate vice chancellor and director of the University System of Maryland’s Kirwan Center for Academic Innovation, which works to enhance and promote USM’s position as a national leader in higher education academic innovations. The Kirwan Center conducts research on best practices, disseminates findings, offers professional development opportunities for institutional faculty and administrators, and supports the 14 public institutions that are part of the system as they continue to expand innovative academic practices. Author of numerous national and international articles, MJ’s research interests include exploring how various instructional media and delivery systems might be designed and used more effectively to improve learning and teaching.

Janelle Elias

Janelle Elias serves as the chief strategy officer for Rio Salado College. She provides leadership for strategic initiatives, institutional research and effectiveness, institutional advancement, and national partnerships. She serves as the design lead for Maricopa Community Colleges’ implementation of micropathways and digital badging.
